With a group of four students we developed and created a teaching concept for ‘SchoolLab’, an innovation program for primary education in the Netherlands. We created a proof of concept of a digital system that encourages pupils to work together and answer questions offered by a ‘digital teacher’. After the entire class passed all questions the lid of the digital teacher ‘pops’ open and the class gets rewarded - e.g. with a 15-minute break on the playground. During the time the class works with the system, the teacher can focus on kids that need extra attention. Besides the physical product, we also created an online platform enabling the teacher to setup tests for the class, and check statistics of different groups of students. This project was nominated for the ICTalent awards 2014 were the results and benefits were presented to an SME Industry Board
